Wow, sounds like they are quite concerned about this. Offering loaners, travel reimbursement, and maybe even buybacks.

Seems unlikely this is really just limited to the Australian market either. Or just to BMW.

Would be funny to see someone take their stripped down track car in for an airbag recall, considering the MY they are recalling.

I took my slightly scruffy ‘09 128i in for the airbag replacement last week . The service advisor and techs seemed pretty enthused to see it actually. 2 of them told me to hang on to it forever as it’s pretty much the last of its breed (small, relatively right, manual, N/A straight 6 coupe) and one of the salesmen gave me his card and told me to call him if I ever wanted to sell it. It’s nice to see t here’s still a few enthusiasts among them.
